Hawaii Island Agricultural Suitability Application
In 2008, the County of Hawaii awarded a grant to The Kohala Center and the Redlands Institute for the development of a user-friendly agricultural land database/GIS tool for Hawai‘i Island. The County’s goal was to promote sustainable and responsible agricultural land use through development of (1) a GIS agricultural map database, and (2) an interactive, user-friendly, web-based agricultural land planning tool.

The Redlands Institute is developing a comprehensive, GIS-based system that will allow federal agencies to understand, evaluate and monitor the cumulative effects, beneficial and adverse, of their management programs and policies on listed species.

Spatial Decision Support Knowledge Portal
The Redlands Institute has developed a web-enabled SDS Knowledge Portal to present SDS related knowledge and information including a set of ontologies to represent the body of knowledge on spatial decision support (SDS). This set of ontologies is an initial attempt at capturing the essential concepts in the SDS field of study, their properties and relations among them.
